In my opinion one of the most important unveilings this year, the XAC KJ-600 carrierborne AEW prototype has been spotted at the CFTE at Xi'an-Yanliang. See also report by and Sean O'Connor at Jane's. (Plus image via @卫星图像发烧员 from Weibo)

Looks a lot like an E-2 Hawkeye, a.k.a. Hummer, to me.

It is an American Hawkeye knockoff.

If we're lucky it also has the NP2K 8 blade prop system and fails to feather just as frequently as the American version.

Because of what their capabilities mean: biggest carriers, catapults, a further next generation of more capable fighters and also that Chinese air power, doctrinally, closer to the USN...

There's not really many design options for carrier capable AWACS I mean, they certainly could have used a modern Wedgetail Radar Dome, and used a Closed-Wing Airframe design Otherwise I'm surprised it doesn't resemble Yak-44 using Contra-Rotating Engines

🤣 If that orange jackass was going to fix anything he would have already done it. Probably gave them the blueprints when he sent them his next batch of MAGA hats.

It’s been on YouTube for months! China develops this plane for upcoming carriers with electric launcher. our old planes radar rotating with blind spots while Chinese radars don’t. copying....they all look alike
