THREAD: My sister has a 4 month old. She's just shown me the copy of 'Your Baby Week by Week' (Cave & Fertleman) that she borrowed from the library. Each chapter has a 'what's happening to mum' section and I'm depressed, angry and appalled:

My PhD was partly motivated by revenge on my undergrad college and tutor. During my second year, I was shamed for falling behind when my mother was diagnosed with late-stage terminal cancer. When I took time out of programme to be with her, I was told to stay off campus
