I am now resigned to absolutely everything built between 1919 and 1939 being described as "Art Deco" even if it obviously follows the canon of the Modernist International Style and has absolutely nothing décoratif about it.

Problem is, John, there is no evidence that the British working class has not availed itself of all of the social liberalisations as much as any other demography. Our work on w/c marriage shows this. I disagree with JG on other points, but I think he is right about BL on this

appalling service to & my Mother from Bishopbriggs. Manager *admits* assistant gave incorrect information on faulty goods renewal policy but insists that PC broken after 3wks is sent for repair because that’s in paperwork my Mother signed
