SaltCON in two weeks. I'm so excited to play a bunch of games with friends, both new and old. Plus, I'm bringing some of my own game designs for others to tear apart. Wish me luck!

Here's a challenge I'm facing in game design: how to make it easier to score sets of unique pieces WITHOUT setting them aside in sets. Imagine scoring Onigiri in Sushi Go Party or Exhibits from World's Fair 1893 WITHOUT placing them in distict piles. How would you track it?

The Game of the Week is New Bedford: A Game of Historic Whaling and Town Building. The setting and theme may be upsetting to some, but it definitely takes its subject matter seriously. Lots to think about, both with mechanisms and game experience.

11. As a medical droid on Polis Massan, your job is to figure out what ails your patients as fast as you can as you try to save their life. "She's lost the will to live" isn't a valid diagnosis, doctor!

10. Have you ever wanted to manage a podracing team? Spend your winnings upgrading your pod, then send it on races. But betting and sabotage are what make the races worth watching.

The Game of the Week at work is Pickomino! I don't have many games that have dice in my collection, but Pickomino fits in perfectly. Simple push-your-luck.

The Game of the Week at work is Bärenpark! Such a smooth polyomino game. Light and breezy turns. At the end of the game, you have a glorious park to call your own. Excited for the expansion this summer!

That's a bummer, but good to hear you're getting back into design! What game are you working on?

The Grand Museum 3.1. Definitely a lot more to think about from turn to turn. Larger variety of big and small exhibits. I think I'm on the right track.

Things really fell into place for me this game and I won by 6 points. Went heavy animal strategy. Might have been the first game I finally took all the bonuses for triplets, something I usually forget.

Look at how much table space this game takes. So many different piles, so much information on tiny cards. But I still like CoB: TCG as a solo game. Haven't played against a human yet.

Just got eliminated from a work Smash Bros tournament. DK couldn't bring home the gold, but I'm very proud of him nonetheless.
