I’m afraid this is a clear misrepresentation of our plans to build the homes needed right across the country for the next generation. We are consulting on the formula and will find the fairest and most sensitive means to deliver the homes that all the country needs.

This is not right. The formula - which we are consulting on - provides a guide to how many homes are needed in a local area. Councils will still consider local circumstances in deciding how many homes can be delivered in their areas, as we deliver homes for the next generation.
