The last time I was in Kanchanaburi I came across this e-scooter tour. These two tourists were about to head off on a rice field tour. This is what I’m planning on doing there this weekend Let me know if you have any ideas for other activities

Wednesday is Mother’s Day in . All National Parks will be free for Thai people and their vehicles. A friend of mine, who is a mother to a Thai child, would have to pay the full inflated price tomorrow like other foreigners. Her husband, who is Thai, will get in for free.

The plan was to keep a low profile while my extension of stay in is under consideration, but my name is in the Thai papers again. This time about the headline in Thai Rath. Maybe I should stay in a temple until I go to hear the verdict on Friday.

Social distancing rules will be relaxed at schools from Thursday onwards. This means no more alternate day learning. But the students must wear a mask, wash hands frequently and keep a diary of where they go outside of school to help with contact tracing in case of an outbreak.

Since I posted the story about the Thai Rath headline yesterday, I received many messages from Thais, both here and on Facebook, saying that the headline does not reflect the views of the majority of Thai people. The Facebook post has already had 564 comments

This is my Tweet from yesterday about the headline in Thai Rath newspaper. This story is apparently causing an uproar in The Philippines.

Update on the insensitive headline in Thai Rath that said 165 Filipinos have just arrived in from the “land of COVID”. The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines has just posted this open letter that they sent to the editor of Thai Rath.

Looks like Air Asia will be shifting some flights to Suvarnabhumi airport from 25th September. The four routes are Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi and Surat Thani. Surely this will become confusing if they are flying out of both airports in Bangkok?

Why can’t they just apologize for the “misunderstanding” and move on like they did at the Bangkok Midnight Marathon. Denying they ever said it just makes it bigger news. Here is some more background news posted by the admin of the Facebook group “Chiang Mai News in English” 👇
