Sure. No such thing as "insider trading" in this game...until the horses start talking.

A horse that is overvalued relative to what YOU think the horse's likelihood of success is. Example: if you determine that a horse a 2-1 chance to win a given race, and the tote shows 5-1...overlay.

Yeah, but...I might have to play him anyway. Take a lot at the play I’m about to start rehearsing. Coincidence?!?!

As far as turf pedigree for WAR OF WILL...my motto is "Running Lines Trump Pedigree." We don't have to guess what WOW will do on dirt...because he's already shown us. His two main track tries have been brilliant. /2

Northern Dancer isn't WAR OF WILL's grandsire; he's in the 3rd generation on both the sire's and dam's side. He was in BIG BROWN's 3rd generation, so I'm not sure what you're after. /1

Define "close descendant." Justify goes back to him (Scat Daddy-Johannesburg-Storm Cat-Storm Bird-Northern Dancer), as did Big Brown (Bounday-Danzig-Northern Dancer). Always Dreaming was inbred to him on the top side of his pedigree...and those are just off the top of my head.

Some years later, I saw another production of the show, this time at the San Diego Rep. And, to my surprise, I actually got much more out of Lanford Wilson's PLAY than I had at the Steppenwolf; that's how mesmerizing Malkovich had been in Chicago.

Cage is often subjected to scorn and derision, but he regularly takes to performances to places that the overwhelming majority of actors wouldn’t dare approach. He’s fearless.

John Malkovich in “Burn This” at the Steppenwolf Theatre in 1987. He was an absolute Force of Nature. I literally could not take my eyes off him. I remember thinking to myself: this must be what it was like to see Brando play Stanley Kowalski.
