I'm reusing wrapping paper I've kept from previous years and sticking it with tape made from recycled paper with a natural rubber adhesive which is also 100% biodegradable! More about Christmas wrapping in my blog post:

What an unnecessary flight. This is not a good look for any politician who wants to be seen to be taking the seriously. - Boris Johnson takes private jet to fly 25 minutes, despite train taking just 53 minutes

It's Christmas Decorations week in my book . Making your own decorations can be an eco-friendly option. These decorations, made on a pom pom course, are a good way to use up yarn but as most knitting 'wool' is synthetic they definitely aren't plastic free.

Every day there's a kindness suggestion, today's is "Make a friend laugh" and an unpackaged sweet or a Christmas activity. I plan to document each day over on Instagram if you are interested:

Hi, I'm Sarah author of '52 Tips To Reduce Waste'. As a family of 4 we have reduced our rubbish to 1 wheelie bin every 6 months. My book is a week by week guide to reducing rubbish, consuming less, lowering carbon emissions and saving money!

Every day for advent I plan to put a kindness suggestion and a sweet or activity in our advent calendar. Today's suggestion is simply to "Give someone a big smile!" I bought a bag of pick and mix and there's a unpackaged sweet for each child in today's drawer too.

I follow my refuse, reduce, reuse approach when sourcing Christmas presents. I've written a blog post about this:

I've written it with the idea that one tip will be read each week. Then during the week the tip could be followed and then move on to the next one the next week. However, it could all be read at once or it could be dipped into throughout the year.
