Kathy Prout was the first to visit me in DC after being sworn into Congress. She and other military widows have fought tirelessly for the repeal of the Widow’s Tax. I've supported this crucial fix since 2013 and helped secure the passage of the repeal in the FY2020 NDAA.

No better way to start the day than to hear from San Diegans about issues that matter most to them. We discussed our city’s growing industries, the climate crisis, bipartisanship in Congress, immigration reform, and much more. Thanks to those who attended today's Town Hall!

Our job is to serve the American public, not big corporations that dump unlimited amounts of money into politics. HR1 keeps special interests in check and bolsters the interests of the American people. The House has done our part. It's time for the Senate to vote on this bill.

10 years ago, the SCOTUS’s ruling on Citizens United opened the floodgates to dark money in politics. Americans know we need greater transparency into campaign finance, which is why the House passed within the first 100 days of the new Congress last year.

Our bill, the Veteran HOUSE Act passed the House! It expands HUD-VASH eligibility to include thousands of chronically homeless vets with other-than-honorable discharges. It's crucial these resources are available to more homeless veterans in San Diego and across America.
