We can’t make her do anything b/c of Separation of Powers that voters decided on years ago: no branch (Executive, Judicial, Legislative) can interfere with the other. We’ve made enough noise. She cannot be unaware of problems that exist.

As a result of our mtgs., the company has been fined, payments to them have been withheld. It’s our job to expose their failures & we’ve done that. You prefer that we keep their failures a secret? Only the gov can do more. You decide.

I’ve heard similar stories. There’s no excuse for MTM to not have their act together after nearly ten months in operation. They said in one Oversight mtg. that “providing service in R.I. is unique.” That was the lamest excuse I ever heard.

It can mean the difference between, literally, life & death. Missed appts. can also cause a patient to be hospitalized, thereby increasing costs of healthcare. If person is on Medicaid, the cost is passed on to taxpayers.

And if that patient is not picked up & has to make yet another appointment, that means more waiting for health care. In some cases, I’ve been told, time is of the essence & being seen promptly is critical.

Insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, as examples, provide financial reimbursements when a patient is actually seen by a medical professional. No shows cost facilities money & people needing care don’t get it. Just bad all around.

This practice only reinforces the terrible, unfair stigma of mental illness. This is murder based upon someone’s affliction.

Absolutely! Facility director told me the no show patients (b/c MTM didn’t pick them up) cost them money b/c they still have to pay docs, nurses, lab techs to be there then get no reimbursement b/c patient was a no show.

I was told directly by one facility that they actually set aside $2000/month from their own operating budgets to make transportation arrangements for their patients who need it.

And of course the complaints are at an all time low: people and healthcare facilities and providers have stopped using them! They’re making other arrangements for their patients.

They have been making promises to fix the problems since January. Hasn’t happened yet. In fact, I think things are getting worse based upon the info I have. Will flush it out soon in Oversight Committee meeting.

As true today as it was when Wiesel penned these words. His novel “Night” is haunting beyond description. His writing is so vivid and graphic that it creates a movie in your mind, line by line, paragraph by paragraph.

What was the purpose of the sunglasses? Did these murderers think the glasses would disguise them?

ALL life matters. We are all put on this earth to live our lives peacefully and for a purpose. Killing any form of life for fun and sport, IMHO, isn’t part of that narrative.

New allegation against MTM claims medical transport company pressured drivers to break the law . The incompetency of this $115 million contracted company is appalling. Our sick & elderly are being totally disrespected. I’m on it—again.
