I'm quite impressed with how this first draft came out. It's not fit to print -- but it's light years ahead of my other drafts. It hangs better together and there aren't as many (to my eyes at this moment with out alpha reader feedback) structural issues.

It used to be word-vomit the first draft, then rewrite it entirely. Then a 3rd rewrite before doing line edits. With this latest WIP, I wrote, then revised before writing again (I write daily). Write 2-4k words, edit before the next writing session.

I keep wanting to type a private message and it keeps kicking me out --- considering I started the group..... I've not been banned from it.

Thanks, for the welcome. The first installment of The Call series, Boreas, by author/journalist Jeffrey Meehan, is a mixture of political intrigue and adventure, combined together under the CliFi genre. See more at

I can't stand bitchy or whiny MCs. I can't handle alpha-holes for MCs either.

Example: He had a raspy timbre (quality?) to his voice, like he had lived his entire life in smoke-filled piano bars. *** Does that seem right to you?
