If you don't fight for now, here are the questions you will ask later... Why is my internet so slow? Why is my bill so high? Why can't I view this page? If you lose your mind because the internet is down or slow for 10 minutes, imagine if it was permanent.

I screwed up the first one and deleted it. That was self imposed censorship.

If THIS happens, I am DONE with the Internet. I'll go back to the old ways: Real books, real people, nature, fresh air. They can go to hell. I will not pay. I grew up without the Internet. Maybe the World would be a better place without it.

Personally, I think social media (As much as I enjoy it) has ruined society. Very few people have real connection, empathy, kindness anymore. I don't like today's world.

For some. For others, it has created a lifeline to others like them. For some, it lets them know they aren't alone. It can be a source of good just as much as bad. It is the good that people in office are scared of.

Believe me, I have been helped tremendously from my Facebook/Twitter friends but...still I think the bad ended up outweighing the good.

People used to know their neighbors. They knew who needed checking in on. Now, no one knows their neighbors. Worst part is, I never see children outside.

I have to disagree. For instance, do you think the Resistance would be as organized as it is without social media? The internet is a battleground of ideologies looking for footing. I do believe some take it too far though. It is a tool and many misuse it.

I don't think we'd be IN this mess if we didn't have the Internet.

Well, I still know my neighbors but I live back in the woods, lol. The internet isn't fully to blame for kids not running wild. I can't tell you how many times I answered the door to a cop bringing my roommate's son home b/c he was out riding his bike. That is a societal issue.

That's a fifty/fifty toss up there. He would still be Trump....and Twitter wouldn't exist for us to know what he was really like. We would only see what he allowed the media to see.

My grandson stays so plugged in, I don't think he knows he's human.

I still am grateful I am not raising young children in today's world. I don't think it's a very nice place for children.

Yup. It seems too many are like that. And I don't like that. But many parents are doing the same so it works for both parents and children. Sad.

I will vent about just one more thing. Parents, please. Please. Please. Please. to your child today. Every day. A real book. With pages. 😊

Again, we are on the same page (if you'll forgive the pun, :) )That same boy was read books every night and it vastly improved his grades. It is also the first gift I give to any child.
