Hi Holly, We try to find the best value markets for Hampshire’s recycling. Sometimes this does involve exporting material for recycling including to China. However, our plastic has been going to UK/Europe for reprocessing for a while now. Hope that helps.

It is the decision of each district authority in Hampshire whether or not they collect food waste, we will pass your feedback on to the New Forest District Council. How about a composting project to help use up any those leftovers?

Hi Marty, if you take the DVD cases to your local HWRC they will be able to advise. However, I would imagine they will tell you to put them in the container marked for ERF as that type of plastic isn't currently recyclable. This will go to generate electricity for local homes
