Hi Alex, the resin types aren't so helpful in Hampshire. The easiest way to remember for plastic is, if it's bottle shaped you can recycle it (please rinse first). Aside from plastic bottles you can recycle, paper, cardboard, tins & cans, and aerosols.

When placing your recycling for collection please remember the three magic words: clean, dry loose. Recycling placed in carrier bags can't be opened at the recycling facility, due to risk of contamination

Hi Clare, well done on your recycling efforts and composting :-) The plastic food packaging is something we have noticed in our own bins, despite trying to buy things loose at greengrocers etc sometimes it's hard to avoid.
