It’s sunny here but still cold. At the best of times I cook a lot of curries, but there are more than ever on the go at the moment. Last night I did cauliflower and crispy tofu in a red curry sauce, and I think today…

Rice! Now that half the world seems to be the proud owner of several kilos of rice I thought today might be the day for some ideas about what to do with it all? In my book LEON Happy Curries, I wrote about three…

That’s why I’m posting, there are thousands in difficulties. I have two small children now home full time; I can only write and do tv if clients exist & want me to; most tv production is suspended. Many are worse off, but I have a following and a platform to use.

Thanks Lucy, we think we’ve all got/had it. I’m hopeful everyone is on the mend, but we don’t feel totally out of the woods yet. And of course we don’t know if it’s definitely CV because no test available.

Dear the government - it should also be noted that the self-employed people - who are only entitled to statutory sick pay (£94 a week) - are the ones now entertaining the nation with online classes, shows, discussions, workouts, dance-alongs etc. That alone should be worth more.

I don’t know you, but you do sound very strong. You should not have had to go through this and you should have been - should be! - better supported.

Thanks, but the min income floor isn't what's stopping me being eligible.

Please sign this petition if you have a moment. Freelance workers like me are not currently eligible for any support. There are thousands if not millions of people who need more than the government are currently offering. Thank you.

We are ill and self-isolating; cannot claim ESA or sick pay. Please do not abandon us . As it happens, my husband photographs restaurants & bars, and I write about them. My heart breaks for all in hospitality, but pls don't forget those struggling beyond the closures.

Oh coconut milk for this one, for sure! Creamed coconut and coconut cream are different things. Enjoy it!

Please do something for us thousands of self employed not eligible for universal credit or any of the business rates reliefs. I'm a writer, my husband is a photographer, we have friends who are TV producers, musicians, gardeners. Our incomes are gone. We get nothing.
