No doubt some landlords will use their handpicked scrutiny panels as the usual safety screen between themselves and ugh, nasty autonomous tenants, making this project yet another layer of usual PR & blag. So I suppose we plebs will have to try to publicise what HAs now do.

She tells me of a ceiling collapsing on a tenant & child - despite 4 years of complaining; a 3-year old newbuild whose floor has already rotted away because of bad plumbing, & providers who tell their tenants they won’t do repairs if they’re in arrears. “

When a landlord cuts maintenance & management costs they're externalising a financial risk of theirs and making it a health, safety & wellbeing risk for their tenants.

Strong statement from condemning the council's cruel PSPO against rough sleepers. Good to see the movement against this is growing. Come down to our event on the 1st with @ Friends Meeting House to join the campaign!

They are sanitising public places because the people who pay to keep them going (the tenants) believe, rightly or wrongly, that in order for people to shop they need places to be clean and safe.

Sometimes you're better off holding your hands up, saying sorry and working WITH people who really care about their homes. . give it some thought.

Shameful Southwark council. Multiple estates suffer heating & hot water outages, hundreds of residents affected, from newborns to the elderly. ‘Repairs are expensive’ isn’t a valid excuse. A sensible council would budget ahead for maintenance/ replacement of these old systems.

I can’t comprehend how building owners think these actions contribute to a safe environment physically or psychologically. Can someone explain? Serious question...
