Kobe was a beautiful person to watch. I always trusted him to react as the ambassador of the game, sort of the conscience of basketball. This is straight, unthinkable tragedy. More , now on FS1

RIP Kobe Bryant. I cannot believe I just typed those words. Just impossible to comprehend. He was becoming as big a force in his second career as he was on the court. God bless his wife and children.

I thought in 2009 we'd get to see LeBron vs Kobe in the Finals, living up to the great puppet commercials. But after hitting The Shot Heard Round the World G2 vs Orlando, LeBron predictably tightened up, lost to Dwight's Magic 6. Oh, well, Kobe would've embarrassed him any way

LeBron passing Kobe in points is highly impressive. Doing so in 906 fewer games. But LBJ passing MJ was WAY OVERRATED. To that point, LBJ scored 3,399 more pts from 3 than MJ had bc 3's weren't emphasized for much of his career. Plus LBJ had played about 5,000 more mins than MJ.

Trae Young is box office. Love to watch him pass and occasionally get hot from deeeeep. But he ranks 378th in defensive win shares and he often can't make his team competitive. JIMMY BUTLER DESERVES TO BE AN ALL-STAR STARTER. SO MUCH MORE VALUABLE THAN TRAE YOUNG.

I keep hearing Luka is the Next Larry Bird. Yet too often I see more Harry Bird. 32% from 3. Another 2-10 vs Utah. 77% FT shooter. 1-5 vs Utah. Will shoot airballs. He's a terrific young passer/playmaker. But LARRY BIRD??? STOP IT. Plays little to no defense.

KAWHI LEONARD IS STARTING TO MAKE HIS CASE FOR MVP. No PG tonight for tough game at Miami. Triple double. 11-11 free throws including 4 late clutch ones. Load manage that, King.

I realize the Pels are trying to be ultra careful with 19-year-old Zion coming off knee surgery, but he had a very productive 20 minutes tonight and I sure wish he could've at least played the final two minutes of a winnable game vs a good team, the Nuggets.
