Yeah. Personally, I think it doesn’t. But it’s easy to believe that it should be given that the the politics of design or a political act expressed through design, etc are adacent. It’s a good question though, and worth the debate. :)

That’s a great example, and I think a valid analysis. But it also opens the argument that design simply becomes as signifacant a part of policy implementation as good management, infrastructure, hiring. And if so, does it fall under poli sci’s frame of inquiry directly?

Maybe at the top of the "design ladder" design is a worthy topic of polsci inquiry. But I'd more argue that at the strategic design level, design is just strong applied critical inquiry skills containerized as a certain set of outcomes that people "recognize" as design.

I consume a silly amount of political and policy podcasts (Weeds, Bombshell, 538, gabfest, etc) from an US-driven perspective, but haven’t found my Canadian fix yet. Just started with Commons though, and would love other recommendations!

Sure. But we explicitly did so before in 1990 with Operation Desert Shield, leading to the conditions for a massive popularity boost for HW Bush. That "Rally Around The Flag" effect is a beast if timed well (which it was not for 41).

I live in constant fear of this, even when I'm not in the process of launching my latest jaywalk from between two parked cars.

The neural net was trained on human-programmed dungeon crawling games, so it's unprepared for humans that refer to objects that aren't there. I can conjure anything into being simply by acting as if it is there.

The personal information accidentally leaked may include the names, email addresses, duty stations, gender, organization, name of supervisor and contract type of individuals... UNICEF did not report the case to any authorities, adding that “U.N. entities are not subject to GDPR.”

Sort of. It’s apparently a known bug in the most recent chrome extension when you have two items suggested for a given page. If there is only one, it apparently works. I was told that they were working on it, but unsure of the timeline.

Imagine Mugatu from Zoolander, but as a failed computer programmer, and you will have the correct idea.

Nice. Yeah, mine are all over the place. Really ends up depending on the concept and the artist. But I've usually had some ideas pre-explored that I want if the opportunity presents itself.

This is one of the funniest threads I’ve seen. Desperately trying to muffle laughter so as to not wake the 5mo old.

One of my tattoos required more planning than some of my project management gigs. Another was 30min of sketching and a walk-in appointment. Both have their place.
