I love the warped view so many people have that celebrities, by virtue of having fame and/or wealth, are not eligible to have opinions on anything outside of their job. Imagine applying this to any other vocation. "Hey pal, stick to delivering mail and leave the politics to us."

Doesn't reach the heights of the first film but it's so so lovely, very funny, and littered with enjoyable tributes to sci-fi. Really enjoyed it!

I absolutely hated the ending. Gutted me and I was annoyed I just went to bed early. Awful. I'm now in love with it. Lynch moves in mysterious ways...

C O M I N G S O O N My short documentary on Ridley Scott’s former right-hand man, Ivor Powell. He’s got some amazing stories to tell. Please help me get this finished by supporting me on Benning

I'll never understand dudes who do this. Like... hey, look at this appendage that I was born with, isn't that impressive?

#687 "Is this all that's left?" Rose verbalises what the previous shot encompasses and the mood shifts from a brief celebration to a somber realisation of just how desperate things have become. Kelly really sells the moment well.

#686 An inadvertently comical shot when looked at on its own, where Poe has dropped his gun and is nuzzling his head into BB-8 while the entirety of the Resistance just watch on. But this image of the sparse group of rebels left leads perfectly into the next shot...

Val Venis is really doubling down on the transphobia, huh? When you compare being trans to paedophilia, you're just a cunt, really.

#685 Move aside Reylos... there's only room for one ship in the sequel trilogy, and it's the greatest love story ever told. (I also unironically love everything about this shot...)

#684 I can't remember if Poe scratched BB-8's "belly" in The Force Awakens or not, I certainly remember him throwing in a subtle scratch at the Oscars in 2018 which was hilarious, but either way it's such an endearing if nonsensical moment that I love.

#683 "Finn! Rose! YOU'RE NOT DEAD!" I love Poe's shock and excitement juxtaposed against Leia's confusion as 3PO waddles into the background. Oscar's got a very good feel for tone with comedic beats like this I think.

#682 Another shot I have no memory of and hasn't stood out before, but looking at it on its own, it shows off all of the outstanding production design of the interior of the hangar really nicely. I love this wide view of the abandoned Rebel base & how it's framed.

#681 This moment is interesting, Poe takes authoritative command in ordering everyone to stop firing. It feels the beginning of Poe's transition to truly taking on leadership with Leia stood just ever so slightly behind him.

#680 There's something quite funny about the tail end of this sequence, starting with this very cartoon-y hand gesture from Finn & Rose, as their shuttle smokes, in complete ruin. Our heroes being in a comically dire situation is the bread and butter of .
