It is monsooning at the Meadowlands right now, where the Jets will take on the Jets at 7 pm in their annual Green & White scrimmage. I will be covering it from my car unless the hail and lightning stop.

Mike Maccagnan left the Jets a mess at kicker ... ... so what can new GM Joe Douglas do to clean it up?

I don't think Eli was promised anything this year, but he was under contract so he had no choice. ... Would he come back to compete? I guess that depends on what his other options are. If they make the playoffs, he might come back as the starter next year.

I agree with that. For Daniel Jones it's all about 2020. Barring an injury to Eli, if Jones plays this year it means the Giants know they're out of it. ... I do think there's a chance Eli returns in 2020, but only if they make the playoffs this year.

The Jets placed LB Avery Williamson on injured reserve and signed veteran LB Albert McClellan, a seven-year veteran from the Baltimore Ravens -- where, of course, Jets GM Joe Douglas used to work as a scout.

There is definitely a good argument to playing a rookie quarterback right away. But to answer your second question, yes, the Giants really believe that.

It's "You're" ... "You are" a tool. ... My goodness, why is that so hard? We really have to overhaul the education system in this country.

Josh McCown also had training camp stints with the Dolphins (2008) and 49ers (2011), so technically this will be his 11th NFL team. One more and I think he gets a free pizza.

Wow. This was unexpected. What an amazing career Josh McCown is continuing to have. I believe this will be McCown's ninth NFL team and his seventh division. All that's left for him is to sign with a team in the AFC South to complete the tour.

Daniel Jones makes it look Easy (like Eli) as two fumbles can’t shake the unflappable rookie QB. Also ... ... It was an un-Bear-able preseason game ... ... The Giants' D had its moments ... ... and many more Takeaways from the Giants' 32-13 win ...
