Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale have more students in the top 1% of family income than in the bottom 60%. Elite schools are reinforcing inequality, not meritocracy. It's long past time to open more doors to those with less.

You know that moment in life, when you bear witness to enormous grief, and you reach out & hold those closer. Your heart struggles to breathe for a moment, as you think... why not me? Why not mine? This is part of the humanity of medicine. It is a silent truth we all feel.

Agree. What physicians must think about is also what they will pay as a consumer. As a conf organizer, if Paid every speaker what they were worth, attendees would have to pay a lot more. Maybe that is the answer ... but it’s not the norm.

4. Finally - if you are speaking 13x, you are a subject expert and in high demand. Thus, you will be promoted acad very fast, assuming these are all national and in your area of expertise/presenting your own publications. This is an honor you DESERVE. Bc is your hard work!🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

3. Unless budget set in advance, maybe keynote will make that, but a subject matter expert MD/DO, esp if junior - won’t. I gave a ton of talks 50+ before getting paid. But - I gained academic advancement + because a better speaker doing it, so a + for me.

2Super high & organizers lose$. So it means attendees would need to be accept higher reg fees. Many won’t. Industry pays higher. Also many times I’m asked by nonprofits or charities. No way they have 20K to pay. Appreciate info but it’s important to weigh reality
