Officer Cadets from the Junior and Intermediate terms have won the UK South and London District Inter-Unit Basketball Competition. In a thrilling final against 22 Engineer Regiment, the RMAS team managed a nail biting win with a score of 61-58.

Today the Intermediate Term Officer Cadets competed in the infamous log race Run over an arduous 5.5km course around the academy the log race is a test of the Officer Cadets' physical fitness, teamwork and determination, all key qualities of an Army Officer

The Junior Term Officer Cadets have been conducting their first aid assessments. Just six weeks into their training the Officer Cadets are already capable of dealing with complex situations involving multiple casualties.

Sport plays a large role in life at Sandhurst, and the opportunity to compete at any level is one taken by many of our Officer Cadets. Earlier this term the Royal Military Academy won the major unit competition at the Army Cross Country Championships

Whilst the second years are on the mountains exercising their legs the senior Officer Cadets are exercising their brains. A trip to to look at Hadrian’s wall & the romans. Looking at history allows us to learn from their mistakes without having to repeat them.

Commander Sandhurst Group recently visited Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College Graduation Ceremony in Qatar. He was hosted by Staff Colonel Abdulhadi Mohamed Al Hajri. He also met the Emir of Qatar who took the salute; who commissioned from RMAS in 1997.

Congratulations to all those of Commissioning Course 201 that passed off the square today! Each Officer Cadet went through an inspection and knowledge test. Known as one of the first major tests, those that passed earned their first weekend off. We hope they enjoy it.

On the 10th and 11th July we will be celebrating World Youth Skills Day 2020. We are inviting young people from youth organisations to join us for a fun day of tasks and challenges designed to develop confidence, leadership and teamwork skills.

The first five weeks are infamous among the Officer Cadets for being some of the hardest that they will face. Officer Cadet Starkey gave thoughts on the ethos that had developed in 35 Platoon, Imjin Company, by this point last term.

Exercise Allenby's Advance is an exercise where the Officer Cadets are tested on the principles of offensive operations. The exercise takes place in the Brecon Beacons. A place that is part of folklore for its unforgiving terrain and inclement weather.

The Officer Cadets of Blenheim, Inkerman and Waterloo companies have successfully completed their first night on exercise Self Reliance. They have been learning to survive out in the elements, as well as spending the days having further lessons on core soldiering skills.
