It’s a shame the government were unable to agree to support free school meals today, regardless of this vote, the meals are still needed. If you are able to contribute a small amount, there are a number of places who provide help.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 “Here is an extraordinary, transfiguring leap from stage to screen... It is a new thing. The film crackles with fresh intensity – and gains new shadows from the timing of its release." Uncle Vanya is in cinemas this October.

It was at the Trocadero Piccadilly Circus, I got fired on Easter Sunday because I insisted on playing the soundtrack from Terminator really loudly during the game, and the ‘boss’ didn’t like it 🤣

During lock down, along with most others I have used music, TV, podcasts, audio books, art in all its forms to steady and entertain myself and meditate on the world. It’s time to provide solid financial support for freelancers now and for the future. It IS economically viable.

Most freelance artists, have done other jobs (myself, teaching, pulling pints, waiting tables, estate agent, Quasar games marshal, Front of house) in a way we’ve been prepared for this enforced period of employment, but equally it’s become clearer what the arts have provided..

It’s easy to dismiss the arts, it’s often not seen as a proper job. Free lancers are made redundant at the end of every gig wondering where the next pay check will come from, a life long fear that the phone won’t ring anymore and we will have to throw in the towel.
