We've created a servant class expected to do everything from the most intimate personal care tasks, manage medication, keep acurate records, deal with professionals, relatives, volunteers, the dispossesed and bereaved and hand power and control to service users. On minimum wage.

And the more profoundly narcissistic an individual is, the more malevolent the lies, and the less need for even a single grain of truth in their slanderous fabrications. All backed up by nothing but layers and layers of previous lies.

Narcissists are great at convincing everyone that the victim is the aggressor. This is fantastic for the narcissist because others will begin abusing the victim based on what the narcissist has told them. Lies, mixed with portions of Truth can paint pretty unflattering pictures.

I told my daughter to avoid at all costs when she said she'd like to work with dementia (as I did) many parents who have been there, done that and left for good reason will likely do the same. Poor pay, poor working conditions & archaic management styles do not make a great ad.

Taken me a day or so to chew wasps but; mum sells her flat to go into ILA for issues. MH issues cause her to basically be a twat to another resident & now she's being evicted. 71yrs old & apparantly family should register & sort out a council placement? Family=me?! FML

I so agree, it cost me so much to speak out against social care abuse & bullying of clients & staff. It still bothers me so much. 😢 But; I can sleep at night knowing I did what was right.

Standing up to abusive leadership on behalf of another might cost you greatly. It once cost us our friendships, home, positions, and income. But the choice to risk losing what power you have for the sake of the oppressed might be one of the most powerful decisions you ever make.

Many thanks to those who already have pledged but I am only a 1/5 of the way to my target. Any amount small or large very gratefully received- unless you followed me to watch me fail?
