“Just because actions meet a standard of impeachment does not mean it is in the best interest of the country to remove a President from office.”

I hope Rubio and his fellow Republican Senators who share this view get their punishment at the ballot box

We've got to wait until 2022 for Rubio. He seems to be counting on voters having short memories. I won't forget. I'll make sure everyone I know remembers, too. Can't wait to vote him out.

Since we let prosecutors strike death-penalty opponents from capital juries, can we strike senators opposed to the idea of removal from impeachment juries?

A colleague went through a juror selection process recently. It was a murder trial. Some of the would-be jurors stated they would find the defendant guilty. Right there-before the trial, evidence, or witnesses were presented. The judge rightly excused them. E tu @senatemajldr

I always thought obeying the law and fair elections were what was considered “in the best interests of the country.”

"Sure the man shot his wife and buried her in the children's playground but it's not in the best interest of his children to put him in jail. They've already lost their mother it would be cruel to deprive them of their only remaining parent."
