There was a large explosion today at the Russian Military Unit 74008 in the town of Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk. Allegedly, the warehouses there house artillery and tank munitions, air defense missiles, ATGMs, and MLRS rockets.

The Life Shot Telegram channel says that conscripts were moving 152mm artillery shells when the first explosion occurred. 4 soldiers are currently in the hospital with frag wounds. 5/

According to TASS, the warehouses contained 25k munitions, the explosion threw frag up to 15km from the warehouses, Emergency Services says one serviceman was killed and at least 8 were injured, and 11k people are being evacuated from the area. 11/

The fire is clearly still burning hours after the initial explosion. As a reminder, Russia’s EMERCOM and Military were already heavily engaged in fighting other fires across Siberia. 12/

Among other equipment being moved to fight the fires, the MoD is bringing two Uran-14 UGVs. This is likely due to the threat posed to firefighters by further explosions at the storage depot. 13/
