Barnard Castle is the new Lourdes. Hundreds are arriving, throwing their spectacles away, then driving home shouting “I’m cured”

If you can watch the BBC news clip of life in Covid ICU at the Royal London Hospital of , it might just make you think twice of going to the beach or park and mingling with others. It should be compulsory viewing in every house in the country.

We all knew they lied or told half truths in print and on Radio 4, but — call me old fashioned - the naked, brazen arrogance of the Cummings’ to lie to the nation two weeks after a newspaper had start asking questions. It really beggars belief. Even mine.

The biggest scandal right now should be that 1 in every 1,000 Britons has died because of this pandemic. We have the highest death toll in Europe because of a delayed lockdown, and that is on Boris Johnson, Dominic Cummings and the whole Conservative Government.

For the first time ever, Twitter has applied a fact-check label to Trump's tweets. It shouldn't have taken this long, it should be applied more widely, and tbh the tweets shouldn't even still be up, but it's ... something.

Please, please, please can one of the journos say to him, "But...having a small child not at school, and one parent being ill...in a pandemic...is *not* exceptional circumstances. It's really fucking unexceptional."

It matters not if you believe him, he broke the law and spirit of lockdown, a flagrant breach of his own policy. An insult to the nation, two fingers to the dead, and shamelessly not even an apology.

In almost 8 years on Twitter, and after 4 years of , I’ve never reported & blocked as many (far-right) bots as I have this weekend. Truly incredible. I’m not naturally conspiratorial, but someone really wants Cummings protected. really needs to deal with this.

What’s so odd about the Cummings scandal is that standing by a figure who is damaging them politically is such an un-Tory thing to do. Normally, they’ll knife a liability in the back as soon as they sense them - even Mrs Thatcher went this way. Why not Cummings?

Do none of these Cabinet nodding dogs get home to a spouse who says ‘do you think you could find a spine rather than debase yourself by continuing to defend the indefensible?’ I know mine would. Time for MrsSunakMrsRaabMrsHancockMrsGoveMrsDowdenMrsJenrickMrsWilliamson to lead
