The federal government’s relentless attack on immigrant families gets even more sickening by the day. This administration has proven over and over that its heartless cruelty knows no bounds.

What a strong turnout today at our Aviation Job Fair, as nearly 900 New Yorkers came to Borough Hall to learn more about the vast array of opportunities available at our airports. When we hire locally, we lift up entire communities. Thank you to all who participated.

Every parent knows the importance of their child being fully prepared for the first day of school. But each year, far too many kids come to school lacking the supplies they need to succeed in the classroom. Your donations will make a world of difference in the lives of so many.

This rule does nothing but compel hundreds of thousands of families — many of whom are mixed-status where a U.S. citizen is entitled to these benefits — deeper into the shadows or deeper into poverty, which in turn jeopardizes the health, safety and well-being of all New Yorkers.

This anti-immigrant policy is nothing but an income test for the pursuit of the American Dream. Forcing immigrant families, who make up nearly half our borough, to make an impossible choose between legal residency and food or a roof over their heads is vicious and morally wrong.
