Completely agree, if a player demonstrates they can make them in practice consistently, fire away in a game.

Think it comes down to how many you’re shooting per game as well. If a team has 60 field goal attempts and half of them are pull ups, you’re losing that game. Probably by a lot too...

Tweet refers to HS teams. Coaches shouldn’t limit a player if they’re good at pull ups. Large majority of kids aren’t. But if a kid wants to play beyond HS, I do think they need a pull up. 97% of kids don’t play beyond HS.

Tweet is referring to high school. MJ and Kobe are the best ever, they can shoot whatever they want.

Offensively, your goal should be get to the rim for a finish. Get to the rim and get fouled resulting in free throws. Or drive and kick for catch and shoot 3’s. If you’re shooting a ton of mid-range pull ups or 3’s off the dribble, you’re probably losing a lot of games.

The WORST coaches are control freaks who constantly remind everyone they're the boss. The BEST coaches are STAFFS that collaborate on everything.

Your defensive effort shouldn’t change based on how you’re playing offensively. You MUST remain engaged and ready to contribute on the defensive end - no matter what.
