I knew Dan when I was in grad school in Tallahassee. This whole saga has been surreal. I can’t imagine how hard it has been for his family. Justice at last still isn’t enough but would help.

The notion that hundreds of millions of $ are going to gun violence prevention research is absurd. My research shows one huge barrier to reaching gun owners on is that we aren’t playing w the same facts. Frauds like this guy are an enormous part of the problem

If your boss told you that you needed to stand in front of a federal judge and argue that it was permissible to deny little kids soap, toothbrushes, and beds while in detention centers with abysmal conditions, would you do it? The lack of mass resignations is staggering to me.

House Democrats continue to deliver on promises to the American people. This week, we passed an appropriations bill that includes $50 million in funding for the CDC and the NIH to research gun violence and better help us understand and fight this epidemic.

Joiner - alcohol use is a long term risk for suicide, but data suggest relatively low BAC among suicide decedents - perhaps because of alcohol’s impairments in concentration, etc that are needed to attempt suicide. So considering timeframe of risk is key.

I was proud to stand with Gabby today to call on McConnell to bring our background checks bill to the floor. Every day we fail to act, people will die.

Super proud of my association, , including people like , who are helping lead the way towards studying gun violence. With more than half of all suicide deaths in the US being gun deaths, we need to do this research. Hoping the senate will pass this!

Twitter is weird. Sometimes we just see one part of a conversation out of context and a whole thing emerges that really wasn’t necessary. As a gun violence prevention scientist, I can tell you I’ve encountered that a LOT. Thanks as always for responding.

To be fair, I didn’t read the full thread so maybe the guy was acting bonkers. I just saw the reply and was put off as a fan who has been frustrated by management but has not been a GM (and who would be terrible at it, so we can all rejoice that this is the case).
