is the one of most underrated CEOs ever. Been studying over the past weekend and learnt about their corporate culture and approach to hiring and I'm just amazed.

George Floyd and I were both arrested for allegedly spending a counterfeit $20 bill. For George Floyd, a man my age, with two kids, it was a death sentence. For me, it is a story I sometimes tell at parties. That, my friends, is White privilege.

I remember encountering a photo of boy who looked like me at Holocaust Museum, I burst into tears in visceral recognition that could have been me. But WWII was different time and place in history. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be black in America.

A big thank you to everyone standing up and protesting violence and racism inherent in our communities. It’s time for change. And a big f@*k off to anyone rioting and looting and taking advantage which diminishes the critical message.

The political views of tech workers look very similar to a college student entering their first semester: Morality-driven with no concern that the 2nd order effects will make people worse off

If you haven't seen a racist autistic person, you haven't been looking. Take your "empirical scientific curiousity" and start fucking looking.

It's easy to support equality & justice for all decent folks. It's when one has to give up something to support it that belief in our real values show up. easy to talk but why do you suck up to ? Memo's to employees is easy. Please retweet.

More people will die from riots than … ? COVID-19? Police brutality? The “danger of riots” is designed specifically to make you think (fear) in a way that has you ignore empirical reality and rationality altogether. It’s a distraction. You’re being played.

I can absolutely buy that. But it’s white flight and the post-Civil Rights Act digging in of racial divisions and everything else going on from ‘68 into the ‘90s. It’s violent suppression, increased policing and, the narrative of wild, dangerous urban negroes. Not broken windows.

People talked about the retail apocalypse before as a semi-humorous overstatement, but now there is no humor & no overstatement. Pandemic & riots mean many physical businesses will just go permanently digital rather than rebuild. Cloud kitchens, for example, are harder targets.

There's been a sphere of acceptable discourse on tech twitter: tech/vc (main circle) and concentric circles of streetwear, rap/hip hop, memes, food, sports. Not politics - you'll get unfollowed - even though many of these things are black culture. Let's hope that changes.
