When people are in crisis or facing mental health difficulties, they should have someone to turn to. We refuse to let people become cut off, isolated and at risk of homelessness because they can't find the support they need.

Kent Scouts Big Cardboard Sleep Out was 'best outdoor fundraising event' runner-up at the Charity Awards! We're delighted, but the thousands of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers who slept out to raise funds for homelessness are the real stars. Well done everyone!

Not long ago, joined forces with Porchlight for Kent's biggest ever sponsored sleep out. It raised an amazing £70,000. Now, the dedication of brilliant Beavers, Cubs, Scouts & Explorers has led to the Kent Scouts Sleep Out being nominated for a Charity Award!

The BeYou team visited to discuss how to be a good LGBT+ ally. Very productive session - thanks for having us! Porchlight's BeYou team work with LGBT+ young people (who can be disproportionately affected by homelessness) and those who support them.

I’ve been visiting the brilliant charity in today to talk about how we can work together with the Police to support rough sleepers and the homeless:

Homelessness is a big problem and we'll only tackle it by working together. Good to speak with about causes of homelessness (including domestic abuse) & what more can be done to prevent it. We look forward to collaborating with you to tackle these issues.

Not having a secure place to call home is an extremely stressful situation to be in, and can make mental health issues much worse. But with a little help and support things can get back on track.

When people are in crisis and have no support network they should have someone to turn to. With better access to mental health support and advice more cases of homelessness can be prevented.

As a society we must do better than this. People we support dream of having their own home. Instead they're treated like second class citizens. It's why we work with landlords and housing associations to challenge the stigma of homelessness.
