The fact that the WHO is reporting confirmed cases instead of estimated cases is insane. #Coronavirus

The WHO operates as a political organization. I trust their rational integrity a lot less than Harvard's medical community.

Maybe. Most epidemiologists won't conflate the number of confirmed cases with the number of actual cases. Even with other diseases, it's common for these numbers to be much different.

Medical professionals will immediately see that the confirmed cases say very little about the actual number of current cases, but the public reporting based on the WHO numbers is highly misleading.

the #WHO has been useless at best in this whole thing, taking China's lead and kissing their feet, being insanely slow to declare a global emergency, not getting in on the ground to say what is happening/help with logistics (instead of allowing China to cremate and give bs numbrs

It is not the job of the WHO to regulate China's health policy. But nobody should force them to publish bunk instead of their own best estimates.
