Today's announcement will be no consolation to the 1.6 million self-employed people who have been left without a penny of Government support since the start of the pandemic. I raised this with the Chancellor during his statement this afternoon 👇👇👇

This criticism in England sadly holds true in Wales now too. It’s unlikely that Wales-wide measures announced yesterday will have desired effect. Welsh Government needs to rethink - and act quickly. We are losing valuable time, and the gains of Summer.

Measures announced tonight are arguably too strict for certain parts of the country and too lenient in others. We need stronger action in areas where there are higher levels of infection says Plaid Cymru Leader Half measures won't cut it.

Absolutely disgraceful that journalists are briefed about new Covid-19 restrictions about half an hour after Llywydd tells Senedd hadn’t made his mind up so couldn’t make a statement. Was Cabinet treated with same contempt? This is no way to govern at a time of crisis.

Yr ydym wedi bod yn wrthblaid adeiladol yn ystod y 6 mis diwethaf, yn cynnig ein cefnogaeth lle gallwn, yn craffu’r Llywodraeth lle mae rhaid - ond does bosib y dylai gwneud datganiad ar unrhyw newidiadau Covid-19 yn y Senedd fel y Prif Weinidogion yn Lloegr a’r Alban

We’ve been a constructive opposition over the last six months, supporting the Govt where we can and scrutinising where necessary but surely needs to make statement in Senedd today on any proposed Covid-19 changes as has done and is doing now
