Couple of key lines from SD interview with | Juan Sartori upping his stake still a very real possibility. & crucially, any potential investor will be 'like-minded' on football matters, i.e keeping JR

Yep, perfectly fair comments to make on his part. I'd like to see him stay, but Sunderland probably had too many midfielders last year and that's not even considering Embleton and Robson.

Interesting quotes from Dylan McGeouch, who spoke to the Scottish press at Wembley. Not giving up on being a success at but has obvious concerns about his future 👇⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A long piece on why I would look to go again with JR next season. Lots to consider and lots to improve, but that applies to the club as a whole. The football has been disappointing at times, but the professionalism, mentality & culture so improved

chairman spoke to Jim White just after the game. He's backing JR. But there's an obvious caveat and that's how much of the club is sold (if it is) and who to. To that end, SD says Mark Campbell was one of four or five potential investors at Wembley

Brutal beyond words. Wasn't a great deal between the two sides. After a poor hour, thought Sunderland were getting in the ascendancy, but Charlton going a bit more direct eventually paid off. Their composure impressive. It's another missed opportunity from a good position.

Charlton score in the dying seconds. Suinderland didn't respond to a quick free kick and its turned in at the back post. Surely all over now.

Such a tight game. Two goals but neither keeper has really made a save, apart from Phillips denying Leadbitter early on. Going to come down to such fine margins... 13 to go in normal time.

Looks like they're matching up the Charlton diamond with Morgan as a 10.

Game becoming really stretched now. Much more space in midfield after Charlton switched to a back four.

Bowyer takes Sarr off. Was on a yellow after taking out Honeyman late in the half. Looked increasingly uncomfortable against Morgan.

HT. Sunderland played some good stuff in the last five minutes of the half and it was overdue. Charlton been the better side after their shocking first 15. Joe Aribo playing well and Josh Cullen controlling the tempo impressively. Lots for Ross to think about.

Charlton level. Really good move. Taylor again gets free on the right. Plays a clever cross and it's an easy finish for Purrington. 1-1.

Charlton the better side at the moment. Keeping it well and letting Taylor pull into those spaces out wide where he's so dangerous. Ross has moved Maguire over to the right. Was doing most of his work in defence and Sunderland could do with a bit more poise and time on the ball

20 mins in. Charlton starting to show a bit of composure on possession now. Moving it out through the back rather than going long to Taylor straight away. Sunderland doing well at the moment though.
