I'm no expert but I can't see how. News papers can barely stay in business. Hard to see how they can meaningfully have any impact.

I’ve lived off and on in Toledo since 1974. The Blade has been seen as liberal for thirty years. This endorsement is a local shockwave.

The Blade is known to be Right/Center, and both newspapers are owned by Block Communications. These endorsements should not be a surprise to anyone.
