Pearse Doherty
Central Bank report damning indictment of insurance industry & Government, who pedalled their spin along with others. SF were right. Since 2009 motor premiums are UP 42%, claims are DOWN 40%. Industry at peak profits. End the spin, end the rip-off. Enough is enough

Fantastic work Pearse but unfortunately we both know that nothing will be done about it and no one will be held accountable.

Set up a Government compensation fund thats paid at the charger or fuel pumps, enclosing motor tax. Take it all away from the thieving private sector. The more you drive then the more you pay.

Do away with unfair road tax as well in one swoop. Discourage people from uncecessary journeys by car and use the extra revenue generated to expand and subsidise public transport and bicycles.

Take a closer look at the central bank themselves. Their policies will reap a storm greater than the last.

Yet nothing is being done about it. There's noise, but no action.

Nothing to see here. I'm sure the profits were just resting in someone's account. Easily done.

Good man Pearce. You were the only one that hounded these feckers for answers. The only one. ๐Ÿ‘

The insurance industry including all 17 firms made โ‚ฌ227 million profit in 2017 and in 2016 made loss of โ‚ฌ273 million . Pearce Doherty did not say this. I donโ€™t like when politicians distort the real situation hoping it will get them a few exter votes.
