As for the "more good" part I wouldn't dream of dissuading anyone from their "govt can't do anything right" mindset as that would be a waste of time. I would note that there are few better investments for the govt than hiring IRS agents.

Simple. Not allowing Microsoft to *pretend* that most of its income is derived outside of the U.S. Also, his foundation is still holding $50 billion that he controls, most of it from him.

He’s donated a fraction of what he would have paid in a reasonably progressive tax system, one that didn’t let corporations pretend they earned their profits overseas. Gates is lucky we only want to tax him.

Soft spot for Bobby Wadkins. Back in '94 he was all-time PGA Tour money leader for non-winners when he led into R4 at the Kemper in Md. Put his second shot on 6 into woods, ball is still in there somewhere today despite about 5k people looking for it. Finished T2.

With due respect to the councilmember the legal concept you are looking for is the "doctrine of necessity." Seize the building, now, to prepare for the coming onslaught of patients. Work out some compensation later. I'd offer him $1 per day, but I'm generous that way.

The question isn't whether what he said sounds idiotic now, because of course it does. The question is whether he's willing to change his position in light of new evidence. Those who cannot have joined a suicide cult.

Nah brah, we don't want to tear them down we're just going to tax them. They've spewed this nonsense for years about their benevolence and their 'innovation' and no one is buying it any more. But hey, reminding everyone about the idiocy of Rand is helpful so thanks. 🖖

The legal concept Philadelphia is looking for here is the "doctrine of necessity." It means that sometimes violating the law (to save lives, or prevent something worse) is fine. Here's a nice summary: . Take the building over. Just take it.
