Sadly predictable that ‘Boris’, who led the anti-immigrant Brexit campaign, wrote racist contempt for Muslim women and announced an end to free movement between us & European people literally yesterday, would be on his high horse condemning Bulgarian racism today.

I can understand the urge to point out that Kurds did, in fact, participate in the Allied effort in the SWW. But let’s not get away from the key point that “did you do anything for us in World War II?” is an unbelievably shitty benchmark for whether to prevent atrocity today.

Tell you what? For all that folk have called Lennon a basic or purely a "feel" musician, the arpeggio section in I Want You (She's So Heavy) is both clever & a bugger to master. Hats off to you, fella.

Not at all! The experience of those first dozen/half-dozen records you had to listen to (over & over & OVER again) can never be replicated.

Fully accept that they're not necessarily "the best" (same with Beatles For Sale), but sometimes you just appreciate them for reasons other than any supposed measure of objective quality (which is, of course, an utterly nonsensical concept in music anyway)
