Yes, thanks. I tried Evernote some time ago and didn’t get on with it but I imagine it’s changed a lot since then! Will have a good look.

Thank you and agreed! SuperDuper has got me out of many holes over the years… Apple Notes and Calendar seem particularly forgetful though. Ironically I’m arranging a conference sort of on this subject this coming week.

I’ve just had a slightly nervous hour or so retrieving some mysteriously disappeared Apple Notes, using SuperDuper. Time Machine couldn’t do it. Probably time for a new Mac/iOS notes app; looking interestedly at and . Recommendations welcome!

There was a piece by in in early May. Tentative conclusions were that airflow inside the plants could make a significant difference, along with the low temperature, the nature of the work, and multiple other better-understood factors.

I just don’t understand this. Beijing reports 27 new Covid cases in a day and an “extremely severe“ situation. UK reports somewhere between 968 and 4900 new cases in a day and lockdown is eased. What am I missing?

Dear UK government, Here’s an easy win for you. People currently get up to a £3k grant for buying an electric car but not a penny for buying an ebike. Let’s subsidise ebikes, build bike lanes and get the capital moving again 👍

Look at what Milan are doing! It feels like we're paying lip service (at best) compared to cities around the world. We'll see a massive increase in cars after this if we don't start taking radical action immediately.

This is the most interesting and positive thing I have heard about tackling coronavirus, by for . Networked, collective government, open interrogation of multiple models, advanced linking of data. Recommended (talk starts at 6:19).

So sad to hear of the death of Jack Schofield. I must have read more of his articles than those of any other journalist, and feel like he held everyone’s hand through the digital revolution. By all accounts a lovely bloke in person too.

Hilarious visit to Aldi just now. Vast quantities of alcohol bring bought; the party was just getting started. Checkout operator jokes that though she’s now a key worker, she’s got a bottle in the fridge when her week’s shifts end. Clearly it’s going to be some weekend.
