Hear a roar? Might have been the Camberwell Magpies players celebrating after dismissing Will Pucovski for 43. Drove at Matt Whittaker and was neatly caught at slip by James Rosewarne. Melbourne CC 3-128 v Camberwell Magpies.

Jack Fowler breaks through for Kingston Hawthorn, getting St Kilda opener Josh Manning LBW for 31. Fair to say Manning was disappointed with the decision. Been a tough season for the Hawks but Fowler looks a good prospect. Saints 1-85.

Last year St Kilda gained permission from the VFL to play Lewis Pierce at Frankston (rather than Saints’ affiliate Sandringham). This year the Saints are sending their Category B rookie and 211cm ruck hopeful Sam Alabakis to the Dolphins. Played US college hoops from 2016-18.

Sterling effort from Malvern CC coach Peter Marshall: a few days out from his 61st birthday he filled in for the fourths and kept for 80 overs (and the following day he was ordered off the ground in an Over 40s fixture for refusing to wear a helmet as he kept up to the stumps!).
