Seeing these incredible high school students speaking out and taking immediate action for gun control is the only truly encouraging thing I’ve seen in this country since that time we had a real president. KEEP GOING. WE LOVE YOU.

So much support pouring in in the last few days! Utah's ready for an independent, principled, homegrown voice in Washington. Who will be our 30,000th follower and help us show the world how strong this team is?

Oh, absolutely - and I so appreciate your eloquence and determination. I grew up being terrorized by the Irish Republican Army and heard their bombs go off. But at least they were a hostile force. Being terrorized by our own government’s cowardice & greed feels so much worse...

Just remember that there is no such thing as the better nature of an NRA A+ rated elected official. There’s no appealing to their conscience, because even if it exists, it will never outweigh their ambition & greed. There is only voting them all out.

Exactly. The problem is *not* Republican citizens, it is Republican elected officials, who love the NRA’s campaign money and are terrified of the NRA’s activists taking them out in their primaries. Their jobs mean infinitely more to them than any child’s life. Vote them all out.

If you watch this and it *doesn’t* make you emotional, *doesn’t* make you want to do everything you can to change this, then get the f—k out of our country. We don’t want you here

1 week of pain, 1 week of grief, 1 week of anger, 1 week of fear, but also, 1 week of hope, 1 week of fight, 1 week of our voices being heard. Hug everyone you love so tightly ❤️

If you don’t live in these 8 states, today would be a good time to call your state reps and demand they pass an assault weapons ban. Find their contact info here:

Marjory Stoneman Douglas student Alfonso Calderon: "Trust me. I understand. I was in a closet, locked for 4 hours with people who I would consider almost family, crying and weeping on me, begging for their lives. I understand what it is like to text my parents goodbye." (via CBS)

I’m so proud of all of the students in Florida that aren’t taking no for an answer. They continue to press the issue at hand. The are refusing to go away, and that is what we need more of. Keep that passion alive, it’s very inspiring to both young and old.

Nowhere is safe, Michelle, and that’s the painful truth we all have to recognize. If we don’t fight for gun safety right now, we’re complicit in the coming massacres - the next one of which could be as close to home as own schools here in Columbus.
