Curious that Hallmark embraces the Potatoman. In big-screen romcoms, female protagonist runs screaming from man whose only flaw is being unforgivably boring, and into arms of egotistical jackass who's going to sleep with the next waitress/party planner/hooker who smiles at him.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Hallmark Christmas movie devoted to monetary policy.

How do you get "kicked out" of Alberta? Maybe I was, too, and no one told me.

It's not just kids, Patty. Parents, too. I watched you regularly with my son (he's now nearly 15). You were a very big part of my parenthood. Not sure we would have made it without Patty and Sid!

When I first moved to Ontario from Alberta, that was the first time I ever heard someone say "Central Canada". I was like, "Um, sorry, that's not a thing..."

Saskatchewan says the carbon tax was a ballot box question, but only in provinces where people voted against it. Otherwise, it totally wasn't a ballot box question. Ergo, Canadians rejected carbon taxes. 🤔

We could use less performative outrage by all politicians. No one in the equalization and pipeline debate is looking particularly good right now. West and East alike.

Could Alberta go it alone with its own pension plan? Yes -- but it might not be so easy and depends on the outcome of negotiations with Ottawa. and I report.

To be clear, I didn't refer to this issue as involving all of "Western Canada" in the column. I even made reference to BC getting lumped in/forgotten in all this "Western alienation". Bugs me, too. I didn't write headline.
