We continue to work with council members to bring a binding *ordinance* that will do that. We believe a non-discrimination ordinance that includes sexual orientation and gender identity is part of Baton Rouge's values. /4

The resolution does draw attention to the fact that LGBTQ citizens are not protected by current state or federal laws. We think this is a good first step towards creating those protections at the local level. /3
