Prelim: Around 12:40am, officers responded to the location for a check on the welfare call. Once on scene, they discovered an adult male lying outside on the sidewalk suffering from trauma to the upper body. The male was pronounced dead on scene.

Avalon Elementary School in Fort Washington was placed on a temporary lockdown Monday out of an abundance of caution due to a suspicious person seen near the facility. No one was found. Lockdown lifted. Officers remain on scene and on patrol in the area.

The windows of this car were smashed in and a cell phone and cash were stolen. There were 29 reported theft from autos over the weekend. Please remember to remove your valuables and lock your doors.

Both drivers and other occupants were transported to the hospital. Investigators are working to establish circumstances leading up to the crash. Brandywine Rd at Lee Acres Drive is shut down in both directions.

PRELIM: At approx 6:25 pm, a vehicle was traveling northbound on Brandywine Rd. For reasons that remain under investigation, struck a car traveling southbound on Brandywine Rd. An adult male occupant was pronounced dead on scene.
