Analytics will never work in the NFL because one guy’s gut helped him cash a 6-1 ticket in horse racing

Josh McCown is probably the best anecdote for why you should fade pressured pocket stats for QBs in favor of clean pocket ones. In 2013 for CHI (his best season, the one that got him the deal in TB):

Eventually someone will realize that - with the absurd wealth teams have - attracting better candidates (i.e. offering more pay) at the lower levels leads to more competent decision makers at the higher levels. ‘Do it for the love of the game’ is a dated & trite hiring practice

Yes you had an industry that had a hiring pre requisite of being athletic enough to play that sport. Doing away with that has opened up door for females and disabled far more than before

1. Big data is not unique to sports business. In fact, it’s been one of the most reluctant sectors to adapt 2. Obviously ex-athletes are going to be upset that they’re not the only ones considered for certain jobs anymore. Increasing the hiring pool though is not a bad thing

CBS gets one SEC primetime game a year, and this year it'll be Notre Dame at Georgia on Sept. 21, meaning LSU-Alabama moves to daytime for the first time since.... 2010?
