The Tories are abandoning pensioners. Tell your grandma and your granddad. Only Labour will protect their pensions.

Why are we doing this? My pensioner parents and in-laws are the richest people I know. They want the state to help us and our kids, not them

Then target the money on those who really need it. Not my kids' comfortable grandparents.

Yes because its not a benefit. Its a method of increasing a contributorty benefit. Ie: State Pension. People have paid in for their SP.

So it is going to people who may not need financial assistance from the state.

You only get a state pension if you have paid in enough over the years. For a full sp you need to have paid in for 35yrs!

Best thing for young people would be to abandon the triple lock. Retirement age keeps being rolled back to help pay for it.

Lowest pensions in the EU. Rolling back age to pay because they won't tax the rich or big business.

Agree tax needs to rise help reduce liability but won't change fact people are living longer and TL balloons the cost. Shd be index linked.

Personally - speaking as a socialist pensioner - I would prefer the triple-lock money being spent on social care and the NHS.

Wasn't Corbyn elected for Labour to stop copying Tory policies? Now he's out-Torying them, selling out the young once more..
