There’s a way, but it’s nerdy and awful. If you’re up for it, View Source on the page, then look for the tag that begins with: <source src="… Download that URL, and that’s your file. (I should make this easier, but I don’t have time this morning. Sorry.)

Sorry for the trouble on this. I looked into it, and this feed is served far too slowly — it takes over a minute to download, so it’s making my crawlers time out.

All of my tests are showing everything behaving normally. Are there specific shows I should check?

Are you on the TestFlight beta? If so, it can’t see “real” purchases — install the App Store version over it, then Restore Purchases, then you can reinstall the beta over that.

If you’re seeing a blank screen with “Syncing…” in the middle, give it some time — it will eventually finish. I submitted an update to the App Store a few days ago that makes it much faster, adds a progress bar, and makes it less likely to happen. I’m sorry for the trouble!

That’s why it’s so important to know *which* services a podcast is served through, the kind of services they are, and what their privacy policies allow them to do with your IP address. (My definitions summarize each known service, and you can tap to see their privacy policies.)

Sorry, I'm working on this. iOS 14 messed with the gesture-recognizer priorities and I'm still figuring it all out.

Care. They can use the same speedup quality I do with a single line of code.

My podcast ads are sold in a particular podcast category — News, Tech, etc. — and are then shown in random rotation to people who listen to other podcasts in those categories. That ad was purchased in Health & Fitness, so you subscribe to at least one podcast identified as such.

Acast is a pretty big podcast host. Blocking it would prevent any show hosted there from downloading or playing.

It’ll show for nearly all podcasts over the coming days, as your copy of the app refreshes each feed’s metadata.

Yes. The current version works perfectly well on iOS 14. It’s often a good idea to wait for the .1 release of a new OS if you want to reduce your chances of hitting problems, but there’s no need to do that for Overcast, specifically.

Honestly, I haven’t even spent time on widgets yet. I’ve been working on the privacy disclosures and the huge Watch-sync rewrite that *far* more of my customers are demanding.

Sorry, my iOS 14 features aren’t ready yet. Since it’ll be a while before most of my customers use iOS 14, I spent the summer prioritizing bug fixes and my family’s pandemic/school logistics (we’re OK, just busy). Like you all, I’m just doing what I can this year. More soon.
