We agree should be the man of the year. Our nation sees over 30,000 suicides a year, many that are from veterans. Orrin Hatch made suicide prevention a focus this year. It’s worthy of our respect and gratitude.

Yesterday we passed the first major tax reform in 31 years. The left-leaning tax policy center says that 81% will see a tax cut because of our bill, including hardworking families in Utah, who will get to keep more of their hard-earned paychecks.

No. He was not talking about CHIP in that quote. He co-wrote bill to extend funding for it and, if you watch the whole clip, says he will see to it himself that CHIP funding is extended

To be fair, he’s the best President I’ve served “under” in terms of line of succession. If we’re talking best Presidents I’ve served alongside, that list would also include Lincoln, Reagan, and James K. Polk, who really knew how to command a room.

Replying to @OrrinHatch
Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise: the individual mandate is a tax, and it overwhelmingly falls on lower and middle-income families. In short, families are being taxed for not buying something they don’t want. We are going to change that.

“The ‘mandate repeal is a tax hike’ argument seems ludicrous on its face. Why would repealing a tax—the fine that you pay if you find Obamacare’s coverage unaffordable—represent a tax increase?”
