I agree, but it’s so very often the case that companies only take this seriously when they face external pressure. That, to me, shows a lack of moral fibre - and nothing corrodes moral fibre like money. I agree there are good people inside the machine (I’ve worked with some).

That it’s complex is the excuse that is used. There are numerous ways to verify your supply chain’s credentials if you want to but the demand for profits over ethics says ‘oh sorry, we could do that but it’s a bit complex and expensive’.
