The Turkey-backed Syrian opposition is slowly but steadily progressing towards the strategic town of Saraqip. If the town can be liberated & the M5 highway cut again before or during tomorrow's negotiations with the Russians, it will be of leverage.

The fate of 3.5m civilians is at stake; kids are freezing to death & today alone, & bombed 8 schools. Meanwhile, some experts obsess over minutiae & legalese - desperate to (a) humiliate ; (b) say we can't help; (c) argue it's someone else's problem.

Just asking for an old friend: Is the US looking on how to support Turkey by actual aid? Like military cooperation, deployment of air-defense systems or direct retaliation against the regime if Turkish forces are being hit again?

I think the most important question in at the moment is: - Why have the not bombed forces providing artillery support to the opposition as they did the last time rebels captured ? The answer to this question seems crucial.

Since yesterday - despite 🇷🇺 airstrikes - the 🇹🇷-backed Syrian opposition has retaken three villages near Saraqip. Liberating Seraqip would mean cutting the M4 & the M5 highways. 🇷🇺should come with a good offer tomorrow. If 🇹🇷 escalates further the outcome will be inevitable.

The crisis is totally unprecedented & our leaders seem totally disinterested. To those who've cared about before, will you please raise your voice?

For the first time since the outbreak of the war, the regime is being hit behind the frontlines. artillery have destroyed one regime weapon depot & one reinforcements convoy. This is a significant military change the regime doesn't know how to deal with.

And here is the proof of my clarification: Turkey-backed NLF has published pictures of the very same vehicles who attacked the village of Nayrab today. The vehicles belong to the NLF but all groups work together in the Fath al-Mubin operation room. Also: HTS media is faster.

People who followed me for a time will know how much I favored the eradication HTS from Idlib BUT this won't be possible until the attacks by the regime and Russia stop. If the regime takes control of all of Idlib, extremists in Idlib will only spread to the next generation.
